Actualize
  1. Make real or concrete; give reality or substance to; "our ideas must be substantiated into actions" 2. represent or describe realistically [WordNet® 3.0, © 2006 by Princeton University.] In psi terms, this refers to taking an idea (thought), adding impetus to it (intent/fuel), and commanding the desired action to occur.

Alpha State

When the brain is functioning in the alpha range, (8-13 Hz), characterized by relaxation, and mental focus on a defined area, usually excluding outside stimuli. Most familiar as the state usually felt while absorbed in reading or watching television. A state believed to be highly conducive to psionic activity.

Alpha Waves

One type of brain waves, measureable by electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetoencephalography (MEG), frequency range of 8-13 Hz.

Altered State(s) of Consciousness (ASC)

Expression popularized by Charles T. Tart; refers to almost any mental state other that of the normal waking condition (beta); including alpha, dreaming, hypnosis, trance, meditation and drug-induced states.

Ambient Energy

Energy in the general surroundings, a mix from various source.

Analytical Overlay

A phenomenon wherein the brain attempts to fill in missing information with what seems logical, from the persons own memory or knowledge base, frequently skewing the results, leading to false interpretation. (Example: "fllng in th blnks" is read and accepted as "filling in the blanks". The mind fills in the missing letters with assumptions)

Angel

One of a class of spiritual beings; a celestial attendant of God. Anima
  1. The inner self of an individual; the soul. 2. In Jungian psychology:a. The unconscious or true inner self of an individual, as opposed to the persona, or outer aspect of the personality b. The feminine inner personality, as present in the unconscious of the male. It is in contrast to the animus, which represents masculine characteristics. Animus

(In the psychology of C. G. Jung) the masculine principle, esp. as present in women (contrasted with anima).

Jung believed that every woman has an analogous animus within her psyche, this being a set of unconscious masculine attributes and potentials. He viewed the animus as being more complex than the anima, postulating that women have a host of animus images while the male anima consists only of one dominant image.

Jung stated that there are four parallel levels of Animus development in a female, which can be personified into: the athlete, the planner, the professor, and the guide.[2][3]

Anomalistic Psychology

The area of psychology that investigates “anomalistic” psychological phenomena- phenomena which have tended to be explained in terms of the paranormal, the supernatural, magic, or the occult; the term is also meant to include belief in UFOs, in astrology, and in such creatures as the Loch Ness Monster. Term first used by Leonard Zusne and Warren Jones (1982)

Anomalous

Deviating from what is considered the norm in order, form; irregular: abnormal. Outside the usual or expected pattern or condition.

Anomaly

A term used to describe any phenomenon or condition that deviates from the expected,according to conventional scientific knowledge. An odd, peculiar or strange condition without apparent cause.

Apana

Sanskrit for "breath": vital, life-sustaining force of living beings and vital energy, a central concept in Ayurveda and Yoga where it is believed to flow through a network of fine subtle channels called nadis.

Apparition

The (usually) visual appearance or presence of an person or animal or thing, which is not within the sensory range of the person experiencing the event. . A ghostly figure; a specter.

Arcana

Secrets or mysteries. Also a division of a standard Tarot deck which features two sections, the Major Arcana (usually 22 cards with images on them) and the Minor Arcana (usually 56 cards with 16 being “face” cards similar to a pack of playing cards and the remainder being either number or “pip” cards or fully illustrated).

Asana

(Sanskrit) Yogic posture (position) for meditation.

Associational Remote Viewing (ARV)

A form of remote viewing in which the area where a desired item might be located is divided up into a finite number of discrete locations; each of the possible locations is associated or linked with a laboratory-based token object or picture (such as a landmark); the viewer is then asked to describe the associated target-object, thereby indirectly choosing a particular target-location or address.

Astral Body
  1. A replica or “double” of the individual physical body, which can separate itself from the physical body, either temporarily, as in dreaming or in the out-of-the-body experience, or permanently, at the moment of death. Also known as the spiritual body. 2. The outermost layer of the aura/field.
Astral Projection

Focusing the awareness fully into the astral, leaving awareness of the body, the physical and etheric planes, behind for the duration.

Astral Realm

Another name for the Astral plane. Occasionally used to refer to events and activities not thought to be possible on the physical or etheric planes.

Astral Temple

A place on the astral plane or in the imagination created by force of will and visualization as an astral location; where magicians consciously project into the astral plane, it can be used as a place of refuge in case of attack or perceived danger on the astral plane.

Astrum Argentum (A.·. A.·.)

A magical order created by Aleister Crowley in 1907 after leaving the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It is a Thelemic magical fraternity, the goals of which are the pursuit of light and knowledge. The order is highly secretive.

Aura

The subtle field of energy that surrounds all living things, thought to contain information about the individual, changing in conjuction with changes in that being, physical and/or emotional.

AutoGanzfeld

An implementation of the ganzfeld technique in which many of the procedural details are fully automated and computerized, to reduce as much as possible errors and sensory communication on the part of the human participants.

Ayurveda

An ancient Hindu system of health care "Ayurveda" roughly translates as the "knowledge of life" or "knowledge of a long life" Ayurveda, Ancient Indian System of Medicines deals with knowledge that can define the quality and quantum of social and personal health status and ways to restore, maintain and upgrade it based on the principles of Vedic metaphysics.

Azoth
  1. A word composed of the first and last letters of the Hebrew and Greek alphabets. It is also called the Akasha or Astral Light

  2. Considered to be a 'universal medicine' or 'universal solvent' sought in alchemy. Its symbol was the Caduceus and so the term, which being originally a term for an occult formula sought by alchemists much like the philosopher's stone, became a poetic word for the element Mercury.
