I've been thinking lately about energy manipulation. I find myself wondering if I believe it's acheivable, and more importantly to my scientist brain, testable as a psionic skill. Other skills such as TK or telepathy seem easy to test. With TK, if you rule out possibilities of current scientific explanations then you are left with only the likelyhood that an object is moved with thought and as to TP verification of information is presumably easy...apart from a few odd looks perhaps ;D

However, there seems to be lots of scepticism surrounding psi energy, for instance sceptics would argue that psi balls are merely a nervous system response to visualisation and this explains what is felt. I suppose what I'm really asking is, what proof do you feel there is for psi energy? I ask this not as a raging non believer, but as a person wishing for some form of truth on the matter.

Furthermore, on an unrelated but still relevant note, are physicists used in parapsychological studies. If not, how come? Surely if you wished to study EM and Macro Pk, they'd be best at ruling out possibilites.

If you touch a pot of boiling water and burn yourself, isn't it merely a nervous system response:) If you assign a dismissive label to an experience; well, I guess it's not real. True science analyzes tendencies rather than talking about proof; perhaps your nervous system is energy. The biofeedback response, one experiences from intense visualizations can have an effect on their macro world. For example, heating ones body up in cold temperatures. Let's get even simpler. Athletes are able to push themselves beyond their limits all the time through the way they are looking at things. Of course there are many other factors at play with athletes, but my point is that the mind is energy. Taking a walk to the store starts in your mind as a thought(energy), which in turn does work on your body(which like all matter is also energy). It seems that where we place our attentions, creates an energetic connection, within the body or out. There are many theories which try to explain these tendencies, but maybe we just don't have all the answers yet. If you accept the idea that all matter is energy; maybe it'll be easier to accept the idea that psi is merely information exchange. There are physicists studying this, but it's definitely a taboo. Even if a scientist believes it to be real; they may not want to risk their career over it. For your own studies, test EM against a natural force like cold or heat in your own body(within reason: be safe), so you can at least be confidant of your own experience.

A cool science talk on Psi, you might enjoy:)

Re: Psi ball musings

There is some amount of proof in the form of temperature changes. If you can find a capable psion, their psiballs will be hot enough (if they make them so) to be sensed with an infrared camera or a simple thermometer, even when they remove their hands and leave the area.

I've always wanted to get an infrared camera to test this hypothesis...

[/quote]I need to get myself an infrared camera.. Damn my inability to not be lazy enough to get a job.

Re: Psi ball musings

@ Owltwelve: Thanks. Your perspective is very interesting. Also, thanks for the link although have seen it already. Very much enjoyed it however.

@ Paefin: That's an interesting point about capable psions and psi ball temperature. Is this something know due to research, if so, can you point me in the direction of the research you found?

Re: Psi ball musings

Hey guy, if you can't afford an infrared camera(I know I can't). Why not invest in an infrared temperature gun. You can get one at a pet store or electronics store for $20-40. They are very cool for spot temperature testing; just point the laser and get a reading. I use mine to test my ability at heating & cooling water molecules.

Oh I have one of those! And it's for rc cars as well XD Thanks for the idea!
