I posted on this forum a while back, and a lot has happened since then. In the time I've been gone, I discovered that the teacher I had trusted for so many years was lying to me. While he did help me to awaken many of the abilities I wield today, he told me several things about the world that were completely untrue. My teacher doesn't yet know I've uncovered his deceit.

PsionicsOnline, I've come to you, each and every one of you. I want to know: what would each of you do in my position?

I'm not saying I'm going to take the decision this poll reflects, but I'd like to have input from other Psions before I make my choice.

Re: Liars

It's best to understand why this person told you those things. If you disagree with something your teacher tells you, bring up a friendly debate about it. Try to know exactly what your talking about and be clear. This should be your method if you wish to keep your relationship with this person.

I don't know the specifics of the situation, so I can't give you specific advise. This is how I handle situations most of the time, and it usually ends well this way.

Re: Liars

I say, live and let live.
Chances are that in this crazy field, he genuinely believes those lies.

They say a smart man asks the right questions; while a wise man considers the source.

It's not your fault if you believed him, it's actually a good thing.  And now you know the most important rule of the paranormal:  define your own beliefs.
From here on out, you should be able to take a grain of salt with everything, even widely known beliefs.    All in all, this situation has made you a better psion, and person.  Don't ruin it by feeling contempt for your teacher,  just acknowledge his ways and be glad he helped you this far.  Even if it was unintentional.

Turn your focus inward.

Re: Liars

No psionic teachers can really be trusted now a days. Theres just too much bullshit flying around. I know this doesnt have much to do with anything, but in my opinion I think its best to just drop what everyone else tells you. Go your own way, figure things out for yourself. If they say "no, dont do it this way" and you think you should, do it anyways. I have learned this over the years. Countless people told me to do it one way, however I could only get things to work when I did it my way.
