Chapter 1: Psychic / Psionic Abilities Brief Overview

Section 1: Telekinesis Basics

Telekinesis can be defined broadly as the ability to influence the environment through non-standard means. Telekinesis may also be called Psychokinesis(the preferred term by both us and many Parapsychologists), or anomolous perturbation, which is used in certain scientific papers. Anomalous Perturbation also extends to include mind-over-matter phenomena and events such as teleportation and the phasing of objects.  Telekinesis or Psychokinesis can be referred to as TK or PK, respectively.  Telekinesis(or Psychokinesis) can be divided into three basic categories: Macro-Psychokinesis (Macro-PK), Micro-Psychokinesis (Micro-PK), and DMILS (Direct Mental Interactions with Living Systems).

A Realistic View of Telekinesis (Psychokinesis)

Before we continue any further, it is important to mention that moving objects to a great extent(such as levitating a 5 pound item), teleportation(if possible), and phasing tend to be very rare, and in most cases, unrealistic or perhaps even undocumented.  Most significant cases tend to be spontaneous, rather than forced, and/or events that tend to occur outside of the lab or controlled conditions(not to say these events aren't possible,a few documented cases do exist).

Most lab experiments focus on reliable, repeatable tests, and tend to be done by measuring a bias of a random number generator(an example of Micro-Psychokinesis), while using statistical analysis to document how far away from chance the random numbers turn out to be.  Macro-Psychokinesis and DMILS are both documented scientifically, however less frequently than Micro-Psychokinesis.  Every single subcategory of telekinesis (Psychokinesis) as it is mentioned here has been experienced by both the staff here, and the websites members.

 Macro-Psychokinesis: What is It?

Macro-Psychokinesis (Macro-PK) is a subcategory or branch of telekinesis which involves the manipulation of objects on a concrete scale.  One might consider psychic abilities such as moving a pencil or sliding a remote with telekinesis to be within the Macro-Psychokinesis category. Common objects that a beginner might use to practice macro-psychokinesis include a psiwheel(construction, use and definition covered later), a pendulum(construction, use, and defintion also covered later), or a piece of tinfoil(covered later in this guide).

 What is Micro-Psychokinesis?

Micro-Psychokinesis (Micro-PK) can be defined as a subcategory or branch of telekinesis which involves the manipulation of objects on a sub-atomic scale.  What this means, is that, individuals who practice Micro-Psychokinesis focus greatly on the ability to manipulate chance.  Concrete applications of Micro-Psychokinesis might include influencing a random number generator to output more of one number than another number, influencing a pair of dice to roll desired numbers, or perhaps influencing the "random" assigned time you are given as a college student before registering classes. Common objects that a beginner might use to practice micro-psychokinesis include a random number generator or a pair of dice(obviously).

DMILS (Direct Mental Interaction with Living Systems) Introduction

The purpose of  "Direct Mental Interaction with Living Systems", or DMILS, a branch of telekinesis, is what it sounds like: manipulation of physical, living systems.  Individuals that practice DMILS do so at their own risk, and should never practice on other human beings or animals.  By practicing DMILS, or reading anything involving DMILS on this guide, or anything on this website regarding DMILS, you agree to these terms. Concrete applications of DMILS involve prepping onself to perform his/her best before a stressful event or a sports game, to perform healing on onself, or to manipulate plants(such as attempting to make them more healthy). A common object that a beginner might use to practice DMILS is, obviously, a plant, and in some safe applications, oneself.
