Just joined the site, as is apparent, and my friend and I have a question regarding Psychokinetics/telekinetics. Don't get me wrong with the next few statements, any telekinetic activity is an accomplishment in this day and age. But with the present technology, what is the purpose of TK? I understand thousands of years ago, when a crane the size of the building being erected was not even a thought, why telekinesis and other forms of mind powers and the like were around. That being said, what is the extent, the full potential if you will, of contemporary man's TK power? If we roll a pen or so on, what are we doing wrong in comparison to the Egyptians and the Aztec/ Incan/ Mayan civilizations, who built wonders of the world, thousands of years be for the Christian's Jesus walked the Earth?
So the title question remains, what is the extent and purpose of "modern" telekinesis?
telekinesis in my opinion is nothing more than an exercise of learning the body's full potential. of testing the limits of what we put on day to day life, believe without question, and really just learning the full affect the power of belief is.
telekinesis, as any other form of mental control over anything, is just a form of expression of practicing controlling one's life, the space around them, and eventually the whole universe, if you were to believe the creed:
"as above so below"
if one were able to make a pencil move by itself with nothing but an intention, would that person not strive longer term to move the consciousness of the world with his heart. sorry, alchemy talking through me. basically, telekinesis is nothing more than an exercise to do something cool, and prove to oneself that anything is possible if faith is put behind it. from that really is anyone's guess, and option. some may go all dark sith on it, or some may stay neutral and move on to something more or less practical depending on the person.
any practical uses with and "kinesis", is for the user to determine. what is practical but to the eye's of the beholder. maybe getting a loaf of bread down from a high place so grandma don't try to get it and break her hip, maybe showing some friend who then is inspired to learn anything he can thus leading to a life of greatness. no one knows, but the first step is just doing, the hardest for all cuz the step leading to that is belief. most don't get over that, and that's what telekinesis is all about.
