well I am a dowser :) (I think a dowser can be called a diviner too :D) I used to use runes, I still sometimes do, but I often find the pendulum, or L-rods (sometimes I will use a y-rod, but I have difficulty using it), to be more quick and effective (for what I am doing). I usually just use them to find lost items, or I can tell if a person is lying etc. I can also just use my pointer finger and my thumb to dowse, but I don't think it is as good as using other tools.
