Hey everyone, I think my girlfriend is a psychic but I need to verify this. Her ability seems to be Remote Viewing but we're not sure if she's actually seeing people at a far distance of if there's some scientific neurological explanation for this that I'm not aware of. She often sees second long flashes of peoples faces when she closes her eyes when she's about to sleep. I told her the same thing happens to me sometimes. Are we really seeing people or is it something else?

Re: Psychic Girlfriend?

Although this idea of mine has only about a 5% possibility to hit the case... it is this:

When you have a hangover or have drunk for a longer period (many days, weeks, months) alcohol and you abruptly stop doing it... The first thing of note is disturbed sleep, where not very rarely you may see images of people in your imagination, and they are often hostile. If the people appear hostile, then it's prolly not a real psychic phenomenon. If they are however neutral and in all variety different, then the case may be spontaneous subconscious connections and links... that somehow flood your mind and you then consciously become aware of them as thought/imagination.

Think it thru in the light of all that and your information and experience.

Re: Psychic Girlfriend?

I think you and your gf are just normal
If she was psychic then how come you also experience similar things

I have to say that a I agree with chevres as alcohol or any other drugs can have similar effects

Re: Psychic Girlfriend?

We don't drink at all, and I have precognition dreams.

Re: Psychic Girlfriend?

Seeing flashes of people and such just before you fall asleep may be related to hypnagogia.  That's not to say it might not be psychic visions and not hallucination, but the only way to tell the difference that I know of is to figure out some way to verify that she's seeing actual people/events.

Precognative dreams (seeing accurate future events in one's dreams) would be a psychic phenomenon.

Many people have occasional psychic experiences, some just more than others.  Everyone has the potential to be "psychic" in any case.  It's just a matter of training in order to develop the abilities.

Charles T. Tart (parapsychology and consciousness researcher) has some books and scientific studies regarding states of consciousness, altered states of consciousness, etc. that you may be interested in (his blog is also really good, see that pages for the link).

I hope this helps.

Re: Psychic Girlfriend?

When you focus on a feeling, you may also get a vision / see other people or places like this.

I think it happens before sleep when our minds wander (focusing on a lot of random stuff that comes to mind) that we see multiple images, hear conversations and feel strange stuff. It usually happens just before falling asleep.

While meditating before going to bed, I think I accidentally stepped on the thought of my Mom who was abroad. Next day she called, asking "Are you alright? What happened?". She was worried after seeing / feeling my presence. Can't remember seeing her though.

I think that already a single subliminal thought might mean us being there, seeing and feeling stuff.

On the other hand, I've seen plenty of faces, buildings, situations that I can't verify yet. Maybe it is remote-viewing, maybe it is remote-viewing of some astral plane, future or distant past?
